Indore: Approximately eight Swedish enterprises presented their business ideas at the India-Sweden Innovations Accelerator (ISIA) programme held in Indore on Tuesday. They explored prospects and collaborations in green energy, efficient water conservation technologies, resource efficiency, and energy management in India.
A Swedish company intended to establish a chlorine-free drinking water facility in India.
"We provide chlorine-free safe drinking water and are seeking partnerships with Indian companies to establish facilities in India. We supply our product to the Swedish govt, army, and NGOs and aim to expand operations in India. This product delivers safe drinking water without any unpleasant taste or odour. We collaborated with a Kolkata-based company and are in discussions with several Indian states to establish the manufacturing facility," said Peter Holmberg, CEO and chief sales officer at Xinix AB, a Stockholm-based manufacturing unit of chlorine-free drinking water.
Holmberg was among the seven other Swedish companies who engaged with Indian enterprises and explored business prospects in India. Sara Albihn, Head of Partnerships at Atmoz AB, Stina Forsberg, Business Manager at Krahn Specialty Fluids, Karin Genemo, Business Development Director at Liquid Wind AB, and Mats Tuvesson, CEO of ECSAB, were among the participants presenting business propositions at the event.
Swedish companies discussed technology adoption, research, and development cooperation. Industry representatives also addressed collaboration opportunities in renewable energy, energy transmission, and green technologies sectors.
As part of the Swedish delegation, a one-day workshop on innovative clean technologies and a B2B meeting with the Swedish delegation and Indian industries were organised in Indore. Since 2012, the ISIA programme introduced more than 70 Swedish cleantech companies in India, resulting in over 280 projects across India and seven local subsidiaries, thereby contributing towards Make in India and Clean India Programmes.
