Hyderabad: Hyderabad Central Crime Station registered a case against Suchirindia Hotels & Resorts and its managing director, Yadugiri Kiran Kumar, for cheating TGSRTC to the tune of around 6.5 Cr.
The group allegedly defrauded RTC by evading payments towards the lease of RTC-owned Kalyana Mandapam and Kalabhavan Complex, Bagh Lingampally. RTC, in a complaint, said that initially, they entered into a lease agreement with Suchirindia for a five-year period from 2016 to 2021. But the group did not pay the licence fee and further retained the property without clearing the dues.
Despite receiving a 1.72 Cr waiver during COVID-19, the group defaulted on payments. Even after reducing the penalty charges, the group continued to evade payments. RTC alleged that Kiran Kumar deliberately failed to clear the outstanding amounts, exacerbating the financial strain and also made multiple representations seeking relief while continuing business operations without fulfilling financial obligations.
Despite repeated notices, opportunities, and concessions from TGSRTC, Kiran Kumar wilfully withheld payments while benefiting from the property, alleged the RTC in a complaint. The case is under investigation, CCS officials said.
