Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail over isolated pockets of the state. For the next 48 hours, the skies will be predominantly clear, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 36 degrees celsius and 24 degrees celsius, respectively.
IMD has issued a weather alert stating that the state is likely to experience dry conditions until at least March 16. The IMD forecast further said that the maximum temperature is very likely to prevail between 35-37 degrees celsius for the next seven days.
The IMD advisory warns residents and tourists to avoid prolonged heat exposure, wear light weight, light-coloured, loose, cotton clothes and cover one’s head with a wet cloth, hat or umbrella while going out during peak hours between 11am to 3pm. Citizens are also advised to drink sufficient water at regular intervals even if not feeling thirsty to avoid dehydration.
