Cybercriminal wanted in six states arrested at Saligao
Ahmedabad, March 2 (IANS) The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Unit has dismantled a cybercriminal network that had gained unauthorised access to a staggering 50,000 CCTV cameras across 20 states, said Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Sunday.
Panaji:Goa police on Wednesday said that Saligao police on March 4 arrested a national level cybercriminal Kameshu Manda Venkata, a native of Andhra Pradesh. They said the accused is wanted in multiple cybercrimes at cybercrime police station in Cyberabad district, Telangana.
The accused is also suspected to be involved in eight other cybercrime cases registered in the states of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
A team of cybercrime police station of Cyberabad and a police team from Telangana have left for Goa for further investigation. The accused is also suspected to be involved in more such cyber offences.
The accused was produced before sub-divisional court, Mapusa, and has been sent to two days’ judicial custody.
PSI Dishan Naik, PC Rahul Angolkar and PC Tulshidas Gawas and PI Somnath Mahajik of Saligao police station were part of the investigating team.
