3 held for thrashing girl in Doon after video of act circulated on social media

Dehradun: Three youths were arrested in Dehradun's Rajpur area on Sunday after a video purportedly showing them beating a girl was widely circulated on social media.
Police said they took suo-motu cognisance of the incident and tracked down the three accused youths, all aged in early 20s. The accused were identified as Pramod Singh, Akash Singh and Gaurav Rawat, all residents of Pauri Garhwal district.
Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh said, "In the video which was circulated on Saturday, the three could be seen beating a young girl near Sahastradhara. Based on the registration numbers of their two scooters, police found out their details and summoned them to Rajpur police station. During questioning, they confessed to the act after which action was taken against them under the Police Act and their two-wheelers were seized under the MV Act."
