Naval officer Vinay Narwal’s sister requests not to share fake videos
Karnal: A day after his family and the nation bid a tearful adieu to Pahalgam terror attack victim Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, his sister on Thursday requested people to refrain from spreading fake videos online, specifically those that falsely claim to show Vinay and his wife Himanshi.
With her brother's memory at stake, Srishti urged the public to "cross-check the videos and seek permission from the family before creating or sharing any news". "My brother was everything to me, and he deserves respect. Please do not spread any false information about him," she said.
In an emotional statement, Vinay's father Rajesh Narwal shared the depth of the family's grief, saying that while the steps taken by the govt to address the terror attack were appreciated, no amount of justice could heal the pain of their loss. "Whoever gets hurt, only he can feel the pain. I am badly injured today, but the whole nation stands with me. Vinay was a spectacular child who is rarely born these days. He stood bravely against the terrorists. Time is the strongest, and whatever happened has happened. The mountain of grief has fallen upon not merely me but the entire nation. These wounds can never heal," he said.
The martyr's sacrifice has sparked deep emotional responses across the country.
In solidarity, 40 students from Sonipat's SRM University marched to Vinay's residence in Karnal, carrying a hand-drawn portrait of the late Lieutenant. Among them were two NCC students who brought flowers and offered them at the Lieutenant's photograph. Many shops in Karnal closed temporarily to honour his memory, and candle marches were held by various social organisations.
Union power minister Manohar Lal Khattar, along with Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, Anti Terrorist Front of India president Viresh Shandilya, and farmer-turned-politician Gurnam Singh Charuni met the grieving family in Karnal.
