Abhay Singh Chautala accuses BJP of corruption, criticises Congress’ silence
Chandigarh: The national president of INLD and former MLA Abhay Singh Chautala on Sunday lambasted the Nayab Singh Saini-led BJP govt for robbing the people of Haryana while terming the Congress legislative party (CLP) as the mute spectator and partners in wrongs with BJP.
Abhay Singh, while interacting with media persons to announce the restricted units of the party along with its calendar of activities for the year, categorically listed out the wrongs done during the tenure of Manohar Lal Khattar and Nayab Saini-led BJP govt as well as those of the Congress govt over the past two decades.
In response to a question about the inauguration of Hisar airport by the Prime Minister, he said that while they welcome the PM to Haryana, they demand that the airport, which was inaugurated multiple times, should not just be inaugurated again but should be made operational.
Besides, he called for an investigation into the alleged embezzlement in the construction of the airport, where Rs 1,800 crore were spent on a wall that was supposed to cost Rs 180 crore, and sought strict action against those responsible.
Regarding the youth dismissed from jobs by HKRN, Chautala said that those in BJP who were patting themselves on the back for providing temporary jobs have now dismissed thousands of children employed on a daily wage in govt departments and will remove everyone from their jobs in the future. INLD will not only oppose BJP's policies through the media but also take to the streets, fight for the people, instill confidence in the INLD party, and expose the loot that took place during the BJP and Congress govts, he said. All officials will report daily contacts with people to the zone in-charges, and former members who left the party for any reason will be re-inducted, he said.
Referring to party activities, Chautala announced that from May, he will visit major villages in all 90 constituencies of the state, share the grievances of the people, expose the collusion between BJP and Congress, and invite people to the Honor Day rally on Sep 25, the birth anniversary of late Tau Devi Lal. Chautala will visit the remaining villages in the second phase.
