Govt orders closure of hosp in ‘fake doc’ row
Damoh: The chief medical and health officer (CMHO) of MP's Damoh has ordered the immediate shutdown of Mission Hospital following the death of seven cardiac patients after allegedly being operated on by Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav aka Dr N John Camm.
CMHO Dr Mukesh Jain told the media that the hospital failed to submit necessary documents for license renewal despite being given a week's notice. Also, it lacked lab technicians and cardiologists, he said.
The hospital's registration was valid until March 31, 2025. Hospital authorities claim that the renewal application was submitted on April 14, and inspection was awaited. They criticized the CMHO's actions as politically motivated and said that the previous management committee, under which the alleged incidents occurred, had been replaced.
Currently, no patients are admitted to the hospital. The CMHO has mandated that any future patients be transferred to the district hospital within three days.
