According to sources, the developer is designing the building which will have at least 42 floors.
It will come up on a 5,500 square yard plot and will have floor space index (FSI) of 5.4. ARK Infra director Ajay Soni said, "We are planning to develop the tallest residential building of the city, which will be at least 42 storeyed." He declined to give more details as the designing work is underway.
Market sources say such a project would cost around Rs 250 crore. Sources privy to the developments say the building will have three floors of dedicated parking space and there will be about 65 units of 4-5 BHK premium apartments. So far, the state's tallest planned building is commercial and will have 41 floors.
Ahmedabad has seen massive demand for premium residential apartments and a number of projects have been launched to meet it. The city is witnessing increasing interest in tall buildings and around a dozen buildings with more than 30 storeys have been planned with three such projects approved so far.
Under the Comprehensive General Development Control Regulations (CGDCR) 2017, the state government announced special provisions for tall and iconic buildings in the major cities of the state through special additions. A special technical committee (STC) was also formed in August 2021 to advise local authorities on permissions for such tall buildings.
