But 'Vettaiyan' failed to create a new record at the box office, and it stands as the second-best opening for a Tamil film in 2024 after Vijay's 'GOAT', which grossed around Rs 120 crore on the opening day. However, the upcoming days are going to be a super solid one for 'Vettaiyan' and the Rajinikanth starrer is likely to add some quick numbers to step into the profit zone. 'Vettaiyan' earned almost Rs 20 crore in advance sales for day 2, and the weekend collection is going to be a high one for sure. 'Vettaiyan' has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, 'Vettaiyan' features Rajinikanth as a cop, who favors encounters, while Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh played key roles. Rajinikanth's role exploring his skills impressed fans, while Anirudh Ravichander's background score elevated the film well.
