Man’s body found stuffed in box and dumped in Maharashtra

In Hadapsar, Pune, a ragpicker discovered the body of an unidentified man, around 30 years old, stuffed in a cardboard box and discarded among roadside garbage. Inspector Nilesh Jagdale revealed that preliminary investigations indicate the man was strangled before being packed in the box. The body has been sent for a post-mortem to determine further details.

PUNE: The body of an unidentified man, estimated to be aged around 30 years old, was on Friday found stuffed in a cardboard box and dumped amid roadside garbage along a stretch in Hingne Mala of Hadapsar.
Inspector Nilesh Jagdale of the Hadapsar police told TOI that the incident came to light in the afternoon, when a ragpicker noticed a box wrapped in a gunny bag.
"When the ragpicker opened the bag, he found the body and alerted the police," Jagdale said.
The officer stated that prima facie investigations revealed that the man was strangled to death and his body then was stuffed in the box.
"We are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased person. The body has been sent for a post-mortem," said Jagdale.
