The popular teen drama 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' will return for its third and final season on July 16, 2025. This new season, based on the final book 'We’ll Always Have Summer' by Jenny Han, is expected to wrap up Belly’s emotional journey as she finally decides between Conrad and Jeremiah.
The streaming platform confirmed that this season will be longer than the previous ones, with a total of 10 episodes. It was reported that the show was renewed on August 3, 2023, even before the Hollywood strikes began. After those labor disputes ended, the production of Season 3 moved forward.
The storyline will pick up after Belly finishes her junior year at college. At the beginning of the season, she is seen in a relationship with Jeremiah, and they are preparing for another summer at Cousins Beach. However, her peaceful romance is soon shaken when Conrad returns, creating a complicated love triangle once again. This twist will force Belly to confront her lingering emotions for both boys and make a life-changing decision.
A teaser released on April 24 gave fans a quick look at the upcoming drama. The teaser cleverly uses Taylor Swift’s songs "Red" and "Daylight" to reflect Belly’s feelings — symbolizing the intense, fiery love she once had with Conrad ("burning red") versus the steady and calm relationship she currently has with Jeremiah ("golden daylight").
Fans can also expect to see the return of all the main cast members. Lola Tung will continue in her role as Belly, with Christopher Briney as Conrad and Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah. Supporting cast members including Sean Kaufman (Steven), Rain Spencer (Taylor), David Iacono (Cam), and Jackie Chung (Laurel) will also return. There's a chance that Kyra Sedgwick (Aunt Julia) and Elsie Fisher (Skye) will make appearances too.
Although Susannah, played by Rachel Blanchard, died in Season 2, she might still appear in flashback scenes, as her character remains important to the story.
Jenny Han, the creator of the series and the author of the original books, mentioned that while Season 3 will follow the plot of the final novel, there might be some changes to keep the audience surprised. She shared that her goal is to make the ending satisfying for both readers and viewers.
Fans of the series are eager to find out who Belly will finally choose — will it be the deep and emotional connection with Conrad or the stable and caring bond with Jeremiah? The answer will be revealed when the final season premieres this July on Prime Video.
