Unbeaten Dhamgaye wins Barat memorial chess title

Nagpur: Fifth seed Pramod Dhamgaye remained unbeaten to clinch the 11th Kamal Kumar Barat Memorial Nagpur District veteran rapid chess title at the Dhanwate National College hall on Sunday.
In the 45+ age category tournament, Dhamgaye won five games and drew the last board with Sanjay Bhange to emerge champion collecting 5.5 points. Sunil Chelani and TM Kawadkar completed the podium finish.
Later Shreyans Kamdar, NDCA vice president distributed the prizes. On the occasion, Kaustav Barat, NDCA secretary KK Barat, SN Parkhi, chief arbiter Pravin Pantawane, Deepak Patrikar and Dinesh Kokate were present.
RESULTS (ROUND 6)
Sanjay Bhange (4.5) drew with Pramod Dhamgaye (5.5), RN Hariramani (4) lost to Sunil Chelani (5), Vijay Jhanwar (4.5) drew with Ishwar Ramteke (4), Sham Agrawal (3.5) lost to TM Kawadkar (4.5), Ravi Patra (4) bt Dilip Patil (3.5).
