JIND: A horrific incident has surfaced in Haryana's Jind district, where a 35-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped and her 5-year-old daughter strangled to death. Shockingly, the child's body was reportedly buried without a post-mortem.
Upon receiving the information, the authorities exhumed the body in the presence of a duty magistrate.
According to the police, the victim's family lives in a slum and survives on rag picking. On the night of the incident, her husband along with a local resident left the shanty following a dispute. Later, the accused and three of his accomplices reportedly entered the woman's hut, rendered her unconscious, and abducted her along with her young daughter.
The accused allegedly took them to a garbage dump, where the girl was strangled to death, and the woman was gangraped. She was left unconscious at the site.
The woman was discovered the next morning by a local, who brought her back to her hut. Meanwhile, the child's body was buried.
Later, the police exhumed the body in the presence of a duty magistrate, said sources.
A police official said an FIR had been registered against the accused persons under relevant sections of the BNS, and action was being taken. The accused will be arrested soon, said the police official.
