Supriya Sule is an Indian politician from the Nationalist Congress Party and the daughter of Congress’ President Sharad Pawar. She attended Jai Hind College and completed her B.Sc. degree in microbiology. At present, she is a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha.
Earlier, she was also elected as the Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra from 2006 to 2009.
In 2009, she contested the elections for the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency and won. She was highly regarded for her statewide campaign against female foeticide, which she launched in 2011.
Rashtravadi Yuvati Congress, a wing under the leadership of Sule was formed to give platform to young girls in politics.
She was honored with Mumbai Women of the Decade Achievers Award by ALL Ladies League for her outstanding contribution to social service.
Supriya Sule declined all allegations of any involvement between her family and the Indian Premier League (IPL), when reports on IPL irregularities in its ownership and functioning, in 2010.
On September 11, 2017, it was reported in media that Sanjay Raut, a senior leader from Shiv Sena, in its party's mouthpiece Saamna, claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had offered Sule a berth in the Union Cabinet. The claim was later denied by Sule.
Sule was appointed as the working president of NCP by Sharad Pawar in June 2023.
