A group of 50 alumni from the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country have quit their jobs to form a political party to fight for the rights of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. The group, which is waiting for an approval from the Election Commission, has named their outfit "bahujan azad party".

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) MP from Adilabad Soyam Bapu Rao visited Nanded on Wednesday and raised questions on the intentions of the TRS during his visit. Rao an MP from Telangana said that "K Chandrashekhar Rao, the TRS Chief made tall promises before coming to power in Telangana, he failed to fulfil the promises after coming to power. The party has thus decided to go by the name of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). The move stunned local political parties in the states, and several villages along the bordering areas of Nanded and surrounding districts have sought merger with Telangana. The villagers have cited better facilities and pro-people policies of the TRS in Telanagana as the reason for seeking merger. The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) plans to revive its online system of issuing birth and death certificates to applicants, which had been stopped over two years ago. The system was stopped because the private party that was aiding NMC by providing technical support backed off. This impacted the functioning of the system, and NMC had to stop it. NMC authorities used to upload the details in the civil registration system, CRS portal, that is managed by the Union Government. After verification, applicants were able to download the final certificates. However, since the online system had stopped functioning, applicants have to visit the respective divisional offices of NMC and submit the applications with essential documents. It takes around three to four days to process the applications, and applicants are handed over the certificates after processing. Once the online system is revived, the issuance of these certificates will be faster.
