WWE star Kevin Owens, who is facing a significant hiatus for his serious neck injury, has a new update now. As per reports, Owens has not undergone any surgery as of now, and it is expected that he will remain absent the entire year.
Initially, Kevin Owens was preparing for his upcoming big bout against The Viper, Randy Orton, at WrestleMania 41. But his unfortunate injury led to his exit from the Show of Shows, creating a setback in his WWE career.
Owens was last seen in the Elimination Chambers PLE on March 1, 2025, in an Unsanctioned Match against his former best friend, Sami Zayn. During the Elimination Chambers match, Sami Zayn was defeated by Kevin Owens, after brutally thrashing the former inside the ring.
Owens had been managing the injury for several months, and the condition worsened, necessitating immediate surgery and leading to the cancellation of a much-anticipated match with Randy Orton.

Will Kevin Owens return in 2025?

Kevin Owens has recently announced on last week’s SmackDown that he will not be joining the WrestleMania match against Randy Orton owing to his serious neck injury. Owens claimed he needs to undergo immediate neck surgery and will be gone from the roster for an extended period.

It is now expected that the WWE star will be away for the entire year. According to Fightful , Kevin Owens’ surgery has not taken place yet, and he is not expected to return in 2025, meaning he will not make any appearance on WWE until he is perfectly fit. Reports also suggest that the former Universal Champion might even miss WrestleMania 42 next year, as he is still not fit for the Mania card.
Earlier in an interview with My Mom’s Basement show with Robbie Fox, Kevin Owens opened up about his injury. He stated in the interview that he knows people who have experienced the same injury and have been out of work for six months to a year.
He added to the interview, “I haven’t talked to the surgeon or anything like that yet. I’m going to do all that on Monday. I mean, I know that most of the people who have gone through similar things have probably, you know, six months to eight months to a year. So I would assume within that range, but I don’t really know. Like I said, it’s all really new right now.”
