It hasn't been easy for some Formula 1 drivers like Alpine’s Jack Doohan, with rumours surrounding his replacement, but F1 championship leader and McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has come out in support for his fellow Australian F1 driver, Doohan, who is a rookie driver this year. Piastri sympathised with Doohan, stating that while it’s extremely stressful being an F1 driver, he says, he should still be proud of his journey.

Amidst rumours surrounding Alpine team’s sudden replacement of Jack Doohan, before next week's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the news has taken everywhere. Speaking to ABC Television in England, Piastri said:
"Coming to F1, especially as a rookie under pressure, I do feel sorry for him in some ways.“Further, Piastri added:
"It's not been the easiest start to the year for him and I know how hard it is to get to F1 in the first place. So I think whatever happens, he can be very proud of the journey so far."These words of encouragement during a tough time, could be seen as a ray of hope for Jack Doohan. While he knows he has to pull through this moment, it is important to understand how the journey was still made.
F1 team Alpine’s Team Principal Oliver Oakes resigns
In the middle of all the fiasco, Oliver Oakes decided to resign and Flavio Briatore will now be replacing him as the Executive Advisor on Tuesday. Speculations had already been in air that Argentina's Franco Colapinto will come into the team at Doohan's expense for Imola.
Oliver resigned after less than a year in the job, as per the French Formula One team. The team statement said:
“As of today, Flavio Briatore will continue as executive advisor and will also be covering the duties previously performed by Oliver Oakes.”Further, the statement read:
“The team would like to thank Oliver for his efforts since he joined last summer and for his contribution in helping the team secure sixth place in the 2024 constructors’ championship. The team will not be making any further comment.”Also Read:
