Tirupati: Tens of thousands of devotees queued up at prominent Lord Sri Rama temples on the auspicious Sri Rama Navami festival in
Tirupati on Sunday.
A series of special rituals were held in connection with the Sri Rama Navami festival at the Tirumala temple earlier on Sunday. Snapana Tirumanjanam Srirama Navami Asthanam was ceremoniously performed to the deities of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman. Later in the evening, Rama blessed the devotees on the Hanumantha Vahanam procession along the four mada streets encircling the Tirumala temple. TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary closely monitored the spiritual proceedings.
Meanwhile, the Sri Rama Navami annual Brahmotsavams got off to a spectacular start at the Vontimitta temple in Kadapa district on Sunday. Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will present Pattu vastrams and Talambralu at the Vontimitta temple on the eve of the Sita-Rama Kalyanotsavam slated to be held as a state festival on Apr 11.
TTD chairman BR Naidu presented Pattu vastrams at the Bhadrachalam temple in Telangana.
