In honour of the second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Yogi govt built a well-equipped pucca ghat along the Ganga near his home in Ramnagar.
According to the project manager of Uttar Pradesh Projects Corporation Limited, special attention was given to the heritage appearance of Shastri Ghat to match the architecture of nearby historical forts and buildings.
The construction, costing approximately Rs 10.55 crore, includes heritage lighting and greenery.
He said that the ghat is about 130 meters long and offers a parking site, stairs, and ramps for the disabled and elderly.
Located near the Ramnagar Fort of Kashi Naresh, the ghat's construction also used Chunar stones similar to those of the fort. This development is expected to increase the number of tourists across the Ganges.
