Link bridge, new bus services inaugurated
Trichy: Municipal administration minister K N Nehru and school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated a link bridge constructed at 1.3 crore connecting ward 39 (New Town Muthu Nagar) and ward 40 (Balaji Nagar) in Kattur, Trichy.
The bridge will provide a new road for two-wheelers, reducing residents' dependence on the accident-prone Trichy-Thanjavur National Highway. Additionally, it will benefit school students who previously had to travel nearly 4 km via the highway. The bridge is approximately 30ft long and 12ft wide. The work the project started in Dec 2023.
Later, Anbil Mahesh flagged off daily bus services from Bhel to Kilambakkam, Chennai. The buses will depart from Bhel at 10pm while at 9.50am from Kilambakkam. Collector M Pradeep Kumar was present.
