T'puram: Cantonment Police on Sunday registered a case against five SFI members for attacking a KSU worker at the University of Kerala.
KSU member, Al Ameen, 24, of Ozhukkupara, is undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital with injuries.
According to the complaint, Ameen was attacked on Saturday for being with a candidate who won the university elections. It was also alleged that the attack was part of the continuing violence against KSU workers. "I was beaten up using a helmet by the gang without any reason," Ameen said.
There was a clash between SFI and KSU workers when the results of the university elections were declared. Even though SFI could retain the university union, it lost the vice-chairperson post as KSU won a general seat after ten years. "The CCTV visuals will be verified to identify the people who attacked him," police said. TNN
