Lightning strike kills man in Buxar village

Buxar: A 22-year-old youth died after being struck by lightning in a field at village Mangolpur under Itadhi police station of Buxar district on Thursday. According to police, Deepak Nunia had gone to the field near his house to cut grass in inclement weather. It started raining, and lightning struck Deepak, as a result he received fatal burns. With the help of the local people, the family members took Deepak to Sadar Hospital, Buxar, where doctors declared him dead. The villagers have demanded compensation from the administration for the victim's family. The local administration has assured them of providing appropriate assistance from the govt's disaster relief fund. Itadhi SHO Sonu Kumar said that the body was sent for postmortem. Deepak was the youngest among four brothers.
