Kate Hudson has recently made her presence in the front row at the Los Angeles Lakers home ground Crypto.com Arena. The organization welcomed the actress in a heartfelt post on X. “Kate Hudson in the building,” the Lakers posted a video captioning, “Welcome to the #LakeShow, President of the Waves, Kate Hudson!”
Luka Doncic put on a show, dropping 31 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in just three quarters as the Lakers took down the Denver Nuggets 120-108. The team of Purple and Gold dominated early, pouring in a season-high 46 points in the first quarter where Doncic led the charge. His 21-point opening frame was his best scoring quarter this season, setting the tone for an impressive home win.
Denver played without
Nikola Jokić (elbow) and Jamal Murray (ankle) for the second straight game, while the Lakers continued to miss LeBron James (hamstring) and Rui Hachimura (knee).
Austin Reaves stepped up with 22 points and eight assists to help the Lakers extend their home win streak to nine games. Aaron Gordon led the Nuggets with 26 points, but Denver struggled to keep pace with Doncic and the Lakers' efficient offense.
Hudson previously showed her love for basketball as she sat courtside with two of her children at the Los Angeles Lakers' matchup against the Denver Nuggets on March 2. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star, attended the game with her 12-year-old son Bingham and 5-year-old daughter Rani.
In Running Point, Hudson plays Isla Gordon, a former party girl who unexpectedly takes over her family's professional basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves.
Interestingly, Running Point draws inspiration from Jeanie Buss, the powerhouse controlling owner and president of the Lakers. Buss, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, has a long history with Hudson. “She was somebody that I’ve known since she was a teenager,” Buss told The Hollywood Reporter, recalling how Hudson’s parents would bring her to L.A. Kings games when Buss managed the Forum.
