Two die after bike collides with truck in Ghaziabad, two others injured

Ghaziabad: Two people died and two others were injured after their bike collided with a speeding truck near the IAF roundabout in the Sahibabad area on Friday. The victims were returning home after work when the accident took place.
The deceased were identified as Karan Singh (17) and Anand Das (18), while Amar Paswan (21) and Rahul Singh (21) sustained injuries.
Rahul works at a beverage trading company in Mohan Nagar. His brother Karan, neighbour Anand and Amar worked with him at the same trading company.
"Around 2:30am on Thursday night, they were returning to Pasonda via Nagdwar. Rahul was riding the bike, and the other three were seated behind him. After crossing Nagdwar, at the roundabout near Hindon Air Force Station, the driver of a truck turned towards Mohan Nagar. Rahul couldn't control the bike, and it collided with the truck. All four were severely injured. Policemen stationed at Hindon police post took all four to the district MMG hospital. Doctors declared Anand and Karan dead, while Rahul's condition is reportedly critical," Shweta Yadav, ACP of Sahibabad, said.
"Police have seized the truck and motorcycle from the spot. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. We are searching for the driver by tracing the number plate and cops are checking CCTV footage from nearby areas. After the post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the families. A report will be filed once family members make a complaint," she said.
A senior police officer said during the collision, all four hit their heads against the truck. Karan and Anand, who were sitting in the middle, were not wearing helmets.
In another accident on Thursday evening, a 30-year-old woman died after she was hit by a speeding Scorpio near a petrol pump in the Link Road area. An FIR has been registered in the case under BNS sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving).
