MHT CET exam: Some students claim dozen incorrect questions
Nagpur: Some students claimed that over a dozen questions had incorrect options in the MHT-CET 2025 PCM group online examination, which concluded on Sunday. The examination was conducted by the government of Maharashtra's State Common Entrance Test Cell for admissions to engineering colleges for the academic year 2025-26. Some students claimed that 15 mathematics questions in the first shift on the final day had irrelevant or incorrect options. As per sources, the students informed the exam centre authorities about the issue.
When issues arise during the examination, candidates are instructed to follow a structured grievance redressal process. According to the MHT-CET 2025 Information Brochure, candidates encountering problems, such as incorrect questions or administrative errors, must report them to the invigilator in their examination block. The invigilator communicates the issue to the venue officer, appointed by the commissioner of the State CET Cell, who operates from 7.30am until the end of the examination. The venue officer examines the grievance on the spot and makes a necessary decision. For objections specifically related to question paper errors, candidates are required to submit their concerns through the official website, www.mahacet.org, as per the schedule outlined in the brochure. Representations submitted after the specified period will not be considered.
The MHT-CET 2025 PCM examination, designed to test proficiency in physics, chemistry, and mathematics, consists of three multiple-choice question (MCQ) papers, each carrying 100 marks. The total duration for the PCM group is 180 minutes, with the first 90 minutes dedicated to physics and chemistry, followed by 90 minutes for mathematics. The syllabus, set by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Maharashtra, allocates 20% weightage to the Std XI curriculum and 80% to Std XII, with a difficulty level comparable to JEE (Main) for PCM subjects and no negative marking.
