Asha Pande, Meera Khadakkar feted by Abhivyakti Sanstha
Nagpur: Abhivyakti Sanstha conferred the Radhabai Bobade Sahitya Smruti Puraskar on renowned poet Asha Pande, and the Late Kusumtai Wankar Puraskar on retired judge and noted social worker Meera Khadakkar, during its 46th foundation day celebration held recently. The honours were presented at the hands of Pankaj Chande, former vice-chancellor of Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek.
In his address, Pankaj Chande lauded the contributions of the awardees, stating that the recognitions are given to truly deserving individuals who have made a significant impact in their respective fields.
On the occasion, Abhivyakti also announced its annual state-level literary awards. The award for Best Novel was presented to ‘Sita', authored by Abhiram Bhadkamkar. Vinaya Khadpekar received the award for Best Autobiography, while Aditi Kalmekh was honoured for Best Ideological Writing.
The jury members — Vivek Aloni, Sunil Shinkhede, and Dr Chhaya Naik — who played a vital role in the selection process, were also felicitated during the programme.
The second session featured the staging of the dance-drama ‘Dnyaniyacha Raja', adding a cultural dimension to the event. The programme was compered by Sushma Mulmule, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Anjali Pande.
