Mysuru: Mysuru city traffic police are on a mission to decongest traffic bottlenecks in the heart of the city for the smooth flow of vehicular movement and to address various traffic-related issues. Police are holding meetings with stakeholders to seek their suggestions.
Deputy commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sundar Raj told TOI that under the leadership of police commissioner Seema Latkar, public grievances meetings are being conducted at all police sub-divisions, where traffic-related issues are also being discussed.
The traffic wing of Mysuru City police held a separate meeting with KSRTC, during which it was decided to reroute buses to decongest the city Centre. Keeping the suburban bus stand as the Centre, police have changed bus routes for the smooth flow of traffic.
Sundar Raj explained that they are working to decongest junctions and circles. Major issue highlighted by the public during the meetings was lack of parking places on commercial stretches, the DCP stated.
Commissioner Seema Latkar said the public grievances received a good response. People wanted police to check wheeling on public roads and install traffic lights at junctions in the new layouts. Measures would be taken in this regard, to address all traffic-related issues.
