CM to inaugurate MCC Zonal Office-3 on Sunday
Mysuru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the newly constructed Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Zonal Office-3 on Sunday.
Located on a 1.2-acre plot at Sharada Devi Nagar High Tension Road, the building was developed at an investment of Rs 6.5 crore to enhance civic administration and public service delivery.
JK Sindhu, superintendent engineer of Mysuru City Corporation, on Wednesday told reporters that the new facility replaces the previous rented office, which lacked adequate space for public interactions. The existing structure was a large hall divided into cubicles, limiting accessibility. The new building offers dedicated rooms for various departments, facilitating smoother operations. Designed with the welfare of employees in mind, the office includes separate restrooms for pourakarmikas, a garden area, and a 60-seater auditorium, promoting a conducive work environment.
Previously, the MCC was paying Rs 80,000 per month in rent for the old office. The new building eliminates this recurring expense, ensuring long-term savings for the corporation.
Sathyamurthy, AC of zonal office-3, said, "Zone 3 demonstrated exceptional financial performance, emerging as the highest revenue-generating zone among all the nine zones in the MCC for the fiscal year 2024-25. This achievement underscores the importance of the zone in the city's administrative framework. This year, too, we are doing well."
Among the nine zonal offices in Mysuru, three zones—5, 8, and 9—currently operate from rented premises. While construction is underway for zone 5's new building, plans are in progress for the development of zones 8 and 7.
