Lucknow: A discussion on ‘Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein' was held on the occasion of the 35th Foundation Day of the Kabir Shanti Mission on Sunday.
Head of the Hindi department at National PG College, Prof Ram Krishna, said, "Kabir Das was a noted poet of the highest order, a social reformer, a saint, and a noble personality. Kabir showed the way forward when Indian society was in dire need of guidance. His contributions span various spheres—political, economic, educational, intellectual, and spiritual."
Meanwhile, president of Kabir Shanti Mission, GB Patnaik, emphasised on Kabir's relevance in today's world, said, "Kabir's ideas are even more significant in today's context, and the youth should learn from his ideology to lead a sublime life."
On the occasion the Mission honoured five distinguished personalities with the 'Kabir Deep Award' for their selfless service to society. The awardees included senior dramatist and film actor Anil Rastogi, Brahmakumari Radha, former IAS officer Rohit Nandan, Dr Rajendra Prasad (Director of Medical Education at Era Medical College), and Sarojini Agarwal, founder of Manisha Temple.
The chief guest on the occasion was former IAS officer Alok Ranjan, while Padma Shri awardee and author Vidya Bindu Singh, former IAS officer JS Mishra, former IFS officer Ajay Chaudhary, and renowned poet Sarvesh Asthana were also present.
