Hindutva, Sanatan tradition facing crises of foreign ideology and conversion: Hosabale
Prayagraj: Maintaining that Hindutva and Sanatan tradition is facing crises, like the imposition of foreign ideology and conversion, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Monday lauded the tribal saints and added that the Hindu religion is alive today due to the tireless efforts made by them.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Janjati Samagam organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, as RSS affiliate, at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, he said: "Our Vanvasi society has played a big role in preserving the Sanatan Hindu tradition. However, the saints of the tribal community need to make more efforts to promote this knowledge-culture tradition."
The Janjati Samagam organised by ABVKA concluded on Monday with the Sant Samagam. Speaking at the event, Hosabale said: "Hindutva, Sanatan tradition is facing crises like imposition of foreign ideology and conversion. Facing these crises, tribal saints have been making tireless efforts in the remote forest areas. Due to their efforts, Hindu religion is alive today."
"In the coming times, more efforts need to be made to maintain the unity and existence of our society by bringing awareness in the tribal society through environment, research, education, culture, religious awakening and service," he said.
Hosabale further expressed hope that all the saints of the tribal areas would continue to work to strengthen the Sanatan culture by supporting Kalyan Ashram.
As many as 77 saints and mahants of the tribal society from various provinces across the country were present in this gathering. Some of these saints shared their experiences about the challenges and circumstances faced while working in the tribal areas.
Satyendra Singh, national president of Kalyan Ashram, said that various attempts to break the tribal society are going on in the tribal areas of the country. To thwart these attempts, all the saints need to come forward and make efforts, he added.
Clad in their traditional attire, around 20,000 tribal devotees from Nagaland, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh converged at the Sangam City from Feb 6-10 to take a holy dip in Ganga with a vow to "protect" their religion, culture and traditions, and send out the message of ‘tu main ek rakt' (you and I are one blood) to the entire world. Their visit was facilitated by Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, one of the oldest affiliates of the RSS.
