KANPUR: The
Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT)-2013 will be held at 144 exam centres across the state on Sunday including 26 centres in the city and 30 centres in Lucknow. This year, Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSJMU) is conducting CPMT-2013. Over 79,000 students will be appearing for the CPMT-2013 across the state, on Sunday.
In Kanpur, some 13,500 students will appear for CPMT.
To ensure that a fair exam is conducted, videography of the exam centres will be done. Finger prints of the students will be taken to establish their identity so that no imposter is able to appear for the exam. The students will be required to report 45 minutes before the exam which will start from 9 am and will end at 12 noon. The admit cards of the students will be cross checked by the invigilators at the exam centres.
Tight security arrangements have been made at the centres for the exam. Observors have been deputed at the centres to help out the CPMT aspirants in case of any difficulty. The students will be allowed to use black ball-pen during the exam and will be required to bring only their admit card and black ball pen to the centres. Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, calculators, digital diary, bluetooth device etc will not be allowed inside the exam centres. Students will be asked questions based on Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics. There will be 200 questions in total and time allotted will be 3 hours. Students passing the exam will have to take part in counselling session which will start from July 25.
The second round of counselling will be held on August 28. The students who will be able to clear the CPMT will be able to take admission on the vacant seats in the medical colleges across the state including GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical College, Lucknow, medical colleges in Agra, Allahabad, Meerut, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Ambedkar Nagar.
A total of 1,034 vacant seats of the medical colleges will be filled including 51 seats of BDS in Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical College, Lucknow, 300 seats of BHMS, 320 seats of BAMS and 80 seats of BUMS. The CPMT results will be declared on July 5.
