Massive asteroid the size of the Golden Gate Bridge heads toward Earth

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has issued a notice regarding an asteroid approaching Earth today(12th Oct, 2024), measuring roughly the length of the Golden Gate Bridge. This announcement highlights the agency's alertness and commitment to tracking near-Earth objects.
Characteristics of the asteroid
The asteroid 1998 ST27 has been suggested as a "Potentially Hazardous" asteroid. It is approximately 0.6 kilometers in size, positioning it effectively among the larger asteroids nearby. It takes about 271 days to complete an orbit around the Sun, traveling between an extremely close minimum distance of 0.39 AU to out at 1.25 AU.
