Police on Sunday night arrested Sudhir Dubey, a close aide of gangster Akhilesh Singh, in connection with the murder of rival gangster Upender Singh and Amit Rai.

JAMSHEDPUR: Police on Sunday night arrested Sudhir Dubey, a close aide of gangster Akhilesh Singh, in connection with the murder of rival gangster Upender Singh and Amit Rai.
Dubey was arrested from Sahapur in Bhojpur district of Bihar while he was returning home in Buxar.
Police also recovered several arms from two undisclosed locations.
According to the police, Dubey is a sharp shooter and is wanted in several cases of extortion and attempt to murder.

SSP Anoop T Mathew said Dubey's arrest comes as an important breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into several murder cases, including those of Upender and Amit.
"He (Dubey) is an important aide of Akhilesh and his arrest will surely yield a fresh breakthroughs into several criminals cases," Mathew said on Monday.
The team, who arrested Dubey in Bihar, will arrive later in the night, the SSP said. Mathew added that Dubey will be sent to jail in connection with two previous cases.
"Subsequently, we will take him into remand for questioning," the SSP said.
A resident of Pardih in Mango, Dubey is also accused of shooting a retired judge, RP Ravi, in 2008, following a judgement that apparently was not in favour of Akhilesh Singh.
Upender Singh was shot dead in the district court on November 30 while Amit Rai, an aide of Upender Singh, was shot dead near his Sonari Shiv Ganga apartment on December 6.
