Jammu: Security forces on Monday foiled a major drug smuggling bid in a border village in Nowshera area of Rajouri district in Jammu & Kashmir with the arrest of two drug smugglers along with 5.3kg of the contraband.“Based of specific inputs, a operation was launched by Army and police in Nowshera area,” said SSP of Rajouri. tnn

In Jammu, a husband and wife were arrested on Sunday for possessing 28 grams of heroin. Police apprehended Rahul Singh Jamwal and Shagun Chandel during a patrol in Channi Himmat. This marks the fourth such incident since June, with three couples now detained for drug peddling. An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing.
Two drug peddlers held with heroin in seperate incidents
Assam police made significant strides against drug trafficking, apprehending two peddlers in separate incidents. Nurul Haque, caught at Guwahati's ISBT, possessed heroin worth over two crore rupees. Bikash Phukan was arrested in Paltan Bazar with 32 grams of heroin. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the police efforts. Investigations are underway.
