IMPHAL: N Biren Singh, the chief minister of Manipur, made an appeal on Wednesday, calling for all communities to participate in political dialogue to address the current unrest in the state.
Speaking on the occasion of National Cleanliness Day, Singh said, "On the occasion of
Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, as well as National Cleanliness Day, I urge everyone to embrace the spirit of truth, non-violence, and cleanliness to make the state clean."
He emphasised, "Let's believe in ahimsa and non-violence and engage in political talks to resolve the crisis in the state."
At the Gandhi Hall, the chief minister and the MLAs offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, who is known as the Father of the Nation.
"We are making efforts to rescue them. We have faith we will succeed," Singh added.
Previously, Singh had stated that the Director General of Police (DGP) had been instructed to ensure the safe release of two out of the three young individuals who were reportedly kidnapped by militants on September 27 in the Kangpokpi district.Security forces have already successfully rescued one of the abducted youths and transferred them into police custody.
