Kuchipudi dancer duped of 7 lakh

Hyderabad: A city-based Kuchipudi dancer was duped of 7.71 lakh by a Delhi-based travel agent who exorbitantly hiked ticket prices at the last minute, a complaint registered with the Panjagutta police said.
The 58-year-old dancer said in her complaint that she had planned to travel to Bali in Indonesia with a 19-member troupe in 2024. She booked tickets for the group through a Delhi-based travel agent named Mohit of Book My Bharat Travels. Mohit quoted 55,000 per person, inclusive of tickets, accommodation and sightseeing. The woman paid 7.71 lakh.
However, after the payment was made, Mohit demanded an additional 13,000 per person. The woman then asked Mohit to cancel the entire transaction and refund her the money, and opted to choose another travel agency. For a year, Mohit did not refund the money.
