Hyderabad woman dies in US, family cries foul
HYDERABAD: The family of a 38-year-old woman plunged into grief following her suicide in North Carolina in the US. G Krishnaiah, the father of the woman, G Vanitha, approached the LB Nagar police with a complaint expressing suspicion that his daughter could have been murdered, and alleged she had been suffering harassment at the hands of her husband and in-laws.
Vanitha was married 15 years ago to Shiva Kumar Rachakonda and has a child.

She flew down to the city and stayed with her parents at Sainagar Colony in Nagole, telling them that she was unable to take the harassment meted out to her. However, she was convinced to go back to her husband and she left for the US in July.
On Sunday, the family got a call from relatives in the US about Vanitha’s death but they also expressed apprehensions that she could have been strangulated. Her husband’s family informed them that she had committed suicide. Vanitha’s father Krishnaiah is a weaver and hails from Puttapaka village in Narayanpur mandal of Nalgonda. Police in North Carolina are said to be inquiring the death of Vanitha and her husband Shiva Kumar is being questioned.
