Panaji: The
India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert over Goa for May 7, warning of light to moderate rainfall at several locations. According to the IMD forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of up to 30-40 km/h are likely to occur in some areas during the day.
The forecast also stated that the thunderstorms would affect a few places in both North and South Goa districts, with the possibility of heavy showers in some areas.
In addition to rainfall, the gusty winds could lead to occasional disruptions in outdoor activities.
For the next 24 hours, the weather in Goa is expected to be partly cloudy with a likelihood of haze. The maximum temperature is anticipated to reach around 35°C, while the minimum temperature would hover around 27°C. The relative humidity levels would remain high, combined with the heat, the forecast stated.
Looking ahead, the IMD also forecasts that the maximum temperature in Goa will range between 35 and 36°C for the next week.
