Stalin failed to fulfil his poll promise of Rs 100 subsidy per LPG cylinder, says L Murugan
Erode: Union minister L Murugan on Tuesday said the Rs 50 hike in the price of LPG cylinder was due to a rise in the international crude oil prices.
Murugan said DMK president M K Stalin failed to fulfil his assembly election promise of giving a subsidy of Rs 100 per LPG cylinder.
The minister was speaking to reporters after participating in the 'kundam' (fire walk) festival at Bannari Mariamman Temple near Sathyamangalam in Erode district. The minister offered prayers at the temple.
Murugan expressed his concerns over the police's handling of journalists covering the festival, stating that they had been restricted to five locations and allowed in only at the last moment. He said, "The police should have granted journalists access earlier. I will discuss this with the Erode district collector."
