CHENNAI: A sessions court here has ordered A-class facility for Nalini Sriharan, who is in the Vellore Special Prison for Women since 1991 in connection with the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
The I additional judge P Ramalingam granted the relief on a petition filed by Nalini on Thursday. In her petition Nalini said she had been provided with A class facility inside prison from 1992 to January 1998.
It was withdrawn in 1998 without any valid reason, said her counsel P Pugalenthi.
Nalini, who has completed her M.A. and MCA degrees while in prison, said the court had granted her the special facility on the basis of her educational qualification.
