Abhay seeks adequate security, moves HC
Chandigarh: Almost two weeks after allegedly receiving a threat call, senior INLD leader and Ellenabad MLA Abhay Chautala on Thursday approached the Punjab and Haryana high court to seek adequate security cover to him through central/state security agency.
As per the plea, which may come up for hearing on Monday, Abhay has stated that on June 15, some people belonging to ruling party in Haryana organized a press conference in Sirsa district and threatened him of dire consequences if he did not stop raising his voice against drug peddlers and liquor mafia.

A complaint was also given to the state police in this regard.
The petition filed through advocate Sandeep Goyat states that the INLD leader’s personal assistant has been getting constant calls on WhatsApp and voice messages from unknown numbers, saying that if he (Abhay) did not stop raising the voice of people, he would be eliminated. It also states that on July 17 around 9 pm calls were made and voice messages sent, threatening to kill him.
Police registered an FIR in this regard on receiving a complaint from Abhay’s PA Ramesh Godara, who had approached the Jind Sadar police alleging that a WhatsApp call from an international number starting with +44 made a threatening call on July 17. TNN
