Man arrested for wife’s murder in Jajpur

Kendrapada: A 50-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night for killing his wife in Chorada village under Jajpur Road police limits. The accused, Adikanda Mallick, stabbed his wife, Padmini Mallick (45), in the chest with a knife earlier in the day. She was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in Jajpur, where doctors declared her brought dead. "The exact motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained," said IIC, Jajpur Road police station, Upendra Pradhan. The accused was produced in a local court on Wednesday, which rejected his bail and sent him to jail custody.
