Bengaluru: A 26-year-old sales executive was arrested and MDMA worth Rs 35 lakh seized.
Munafis KP alias Tony, a resident of HBR Layout and native of Kerala, was deported from Dubai in March. He was working as a sales executive in the Gulf country since 2018 and arrested in a drug case there. Tony served a jail term of three years and eight months before being deported to India.
Police said Tony started selling drugs on his return to Bengaluru. He procured MDMA from other peddlers and sold it to customers.
Acting on a tip-off that a peddler had been spotted near the BBMP Park in HRBR Layout, constable Munikrishna approached Tony posing as a customer and then caught him with the narcotics.
Tony told Banaswadi police he studied BCom and got a job as a sales executive in Dubai. He had tried to sell charas there and was arrested.
