JHANSI: Days after a social media storm over the death of a young employee at tax consultancy major EY allegedly due to work pressure, a 43-year-old area manager of a private finance firm hanged himself to death at his home in Jhansi on Sunday.
According to a detailed suicide note recovered from his house, Tarun Saxena had been grappling with the "relentless pressure of meeting ever-increasing business targets" set by his employer.

He allegedly took the extreme step soon after attending the early morning conference call.
According to the suicide note, Saxena had been subjected to "constant verbal abuse and humiliation by his senior officers during daily meetings" for failing to achieve the assigned targets. The note revealed that he had contemplated suicide on five occasions in the past couple of months but had managed to resist the urge.
Saxena's younger brother and friends, who had gathered at his house, claimed to have heard the recordings in which the deceased was subjected to humiliation and verbal abuse by his seniors, which ultimately drove him to commit suicide.
Jhansi SP (city) Gyanendra Kumar Singh said that the body had been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action would be taken based on the findings. The authorities are currently awaiting an application from the family members to lodge a formal case.
