Agra: Clerk tries to kill self as seniors 'demand bribe'

Upset with seniors for allegedly demanding bribes, a 50-year-old clerk at the tax department of Agra Municipal Corporation, Manoj Srivastava, on Wednesday tried to jump from the building but was saved by other staff. He then consumed a "fatal substance" and collapsed and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

AGRA: Upset with seniors for allegedly demanding bribes, a 50-year-old clerk at the tax department of Agra Municipal Corporation, Manoj Srivastava, on Wednesday tried to jump from the building but was saved by other staff. He then consumed a "fatal substance" and collapsed and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Taking cognisance of the matter, municipal commissioner Ankit Khandelwal has ordered an enquiry into the case.

He said that "a three-member team has been formed to conduct the probe and necessary action would be taken once it is complete."
No complaint has been filed in this case.
