Noida: A 40-year-old accountant from the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), who allegedly took a Rs 5,000 bribe whilst handling a flat dispute in Greater Noida West's Sector 10, has been arrested. The anti-corruption team arrested Harendra Kumar Goswami, who was posted in Gamma 2, on Saturday, police said.

A trap was set and on Saturday, when Kuldeep went to hand over the bribe money to Goswami, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, the RERA accountant was caught red-handed and arrested.
Based on the complaint, a case under Section 7 (Offence relating to public servants being bribed) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 had been registered against Goswami. As per the FIR, on April 24, Kuldeep, a resident of Delhi, submitted a complaint to the inspector-in-charge in Meerut Krishnavatar Singh. Kuldeep said he booked a flat, G-1902 in Tower G in Amaatra Homes in Sector 10 in the name of his wife, Anshu Tyagi, on May 30, 2014. He paid a total of Rs 27.1 lakh through various dates via personal funds and a home loan to the builder, Amaatra Homes. However, the builder has not yet handed over possession of the flat.
