Karnataka roadways bus driver offers namaz during duty hours, faces probe

HAVERI: A bus driver from the Hanagal depot allegedly offered namaz while on duty by stopping his bus near Belagavi on Tuesday.
NWKRTC Haveri Divisional Traffic Officer Ashok Patil told TOI that the driver, A K Mulla, offered namaz.
"As a video clip of his act went viral on social media, our security section initiated an inquiry into the incident. The bus was operating between Hanagal and Vishalgad, and the incident took place somewhere near Belagavi," Ashok Patil said.

"We are collecting statements from Conductor Hadimani and trying to contact passengers. We will get a report within 2-3 days, and we will initiate action against the driver," he added.
Many netizens are condemning the incident and opining that it is not fair to perform religious rituals while on duty.
