Three die as SUV rams stationary truck near Dharmapuri

DHARMAPURI: Three men died and two others suffered injuries when a sport utility vehicle rammed a stationary truck near Palacode in Dharmapuri district on Tuesday night.
The deceased have been identified as A Munikrishnan, 50, P Pasuvaraj, 38, and N Srineevash, 47. The injured have been identified as Manjunath, 47, and Chandirappa, 50. All of them hailed from Hosur in Krishnagiri district. Munikrishnan was a former AIADMK councillor in the Hosur Municipal Corporation.
The accident happened when they were returning to Hosur from Hogenakkal. Pasuvaraj was driving the vehicle.
As they approached Palacode, the driver lost control of the SUV. The vehicle rammed a stationary truck. " Munikrishnan, Pasuvaraj and Srineevash died on the spot," Dharmapuri superintendentof police S S Maheshwaran said. The injured were admitted Pennagaram Government Hospital.
The Palacode police registered a case.
