Rajiv Gandhi assassination case: Nalini Sriharan steps out of prison on 30-day parole

Nalini Sriharan, country's longest-serving woman prisoner and a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, was released on 30-day parole. She was lodged in the special prison for women in Vellore. Nalini Sriharan was granted parole (ordinary leave) for the wedding of her daughter Charitha Sriharan. On July 5, the Madras high court granted her parole only for 30 days instead of 6 months that Nalini Sriharan asked for. During parole, she will stay with her mother and family members in Sathuvachari in Vellore town.
